Compression

Saved files name egoradigital.com as their producer in the document properties. Nothing is added to your pages.

What it is

Smaller files, honestly measured

PDFs get large for two main reasons: scanned pages and photos stored at high resolution, and files written inefficiently by the program that made them. Compressing a PDF tackles one or both, so a document that was too big to attach becomes small enough to send.

This tool offers two modes. Light compression rewrites the file more compactly and drops unused data; your text stays selectable and searchable, and the gain depends on how the file was made. Strong compression redraws every page as an image at a resolution you choose. It shrinks scans and photo-heavy documents dramatically, but the text becomes part of the picture, so it can no longer be selected or searched.

Afterwards you see the size before and after. If compression wouldn't make your file smaller, the tool tells you so instead of handing back a bigger file. And as with all our tools, the PDF is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to use it

Smaller in four steps

  1. 01

    Choose your PDF

Drop it onto the box or pick it from your device. The current size is shown straight away.

  2. 02

    Pick a mode

Light for documents with real text; strong for scans, photos and image-heavy brochures.

  3. 03

    Compress

Strong compression works page by page; you'll see the progress as it goes.

  4. 04

    Compare and download

Check the before and after sizes. Download if it's smaller; keep your original if it isn't.

Use cases

When size gets in the way

  • Email attachments.

Many mail services stop at 20 or 25 MB. Compress a scan or brochure until it fits.

  • Upload forms.

Government portals, job sites and insurers often cap uploads at 2, 5 or 10 MB.

  • Scanned paperwork.

Phone scans of contracts and receipts are often far bigger than they need to be.

  • Brochures and menus.

Photo-heavy PDFs load slowly on mobile. A lighter file opens faster for your customers.

  • Archiving.

Keep years of documents without filling your drive or cloud storage.

If customers download a heavy PDF just to read your menu or price list, a fast web page will serve them better and help you show up on Google. That's the work we do every day.
