WhatsApp link generator

Make a link that opens a WhatsApp chat with your number, with a message already typed in. Copy it for your website or Instagram bio, or download it as a QR code.

With the country code. Spaces, dashes and the + are fine.

Higher correction keeps the code readable when it gets scratched or dirty, at the cost of a denser pattern.

What it is

One tap to start a conversation

A WhatsApp link, sometimes called a click-to-chat or wa.me link, opens a chat with a specific number without the visitor having to save it as a contact first. On a phone it opens the WhatsApp app; on a computer it opens WhatsApp Web or the desktop app.

You can attach a pre-filled message, such as "Hi, I'd like to book a table for Friday", so the customer only has to press send. That small detail makes a surprising difference: people who'd hesitate to write the first line are happy to send one that's already written, and you know immediately what they want.

The tool builds the link in the official wa.me format, cleans up spaces, dashes and the plus sign in your number, and encodes the message properly so emojis and accented letters survive. It also makes a QR code of the link for menus, flyers and shop windows. Nothing is sent to us; it all happens in your browser.

How to use it

Your chat link in four steps

  1. 01

    Enter your number

Include the country code, e.g. 351 for Portugal or 44 for the UK. Leave out the leading zero of the local number.

  2. 02

    Write a starter message

Optional, but useful: it tells you what the customer wants and makes the first step easier for them.

  3. 03

    Copy the link

Paste it into your website button, Instagram or TikTok bio, Google profile or email signature.

  4. 04

Test it and add the QR

Tap "Test it" to check it opens the right chat, and download the QR code for anything printed.

Use cases

Where a chat link works hardest

  • Website contact buttons.

A "Chat on WhatsApp" button often gets more enquiries than a contact form, especially on mobile.

  • Instagram and TikTok bios.

Put the link in your bio so followers can ask about prices or availability in one tap.

  • Reservations and orders.

Restaurants and salons use a pre-filled message to collect bookings with the date and number of people.

  • Ads and campaigns.

Send traffic from ads straight into a conversation instead of a page they might leave.

  • Printed material.

Use the QR version on flyers, menus and vans so people can message you without typing your number.

Why use it

  • No saved contact neededCustomers message you without adding your number to their phone first.
  • Pre-filled messageThe first line is written for them, so more people actually send it.
  • Link and QR in oneCopy the link for online use and download the QR code for print.
  • Private and freeBuilt in your browser. Your number isn't stored or shared.

Questions

A WhatsApp button turns visitors into conversations. A good website gives them a reason to start one. If you'd like a site that brings in more messages, bookings and calls, let's talk.
